Students Participate in "iPhone Fast" to Begin the Lenten Season

Members of the Holy Cross High School community – students, faculty and staff – are starting the Lenten season off with no distractions, at least of the cellular kind. They are participating in "I Phone Fast." Headed by the Archdiocese of Hartford with the support of the Office of Education, Evangelization and Catechesis, this campaign is asking faithful students to fast from cell phones on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Join us and "Take the Stage!"

 

You are invited on March 14, 2017 at 6:30pm at Holy Cross to meet the musicians, singers, actors, dancers, technicians and artists who make up our Music and Theatre Departments!!  Hundreds of students carry a love for the arts at Holy Cross. Every day, they live out their dreams, grow their passions and develop into seasoned professionals. On this special evening, meet the classmates who you will be taking the stage with in September! You will also be able to sit in on a rehearsal for the Holy Cross Student Theatre's current production of Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat®!

Proficiency Exams

 

Proficiency Exams are scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2017. 


8:30am-10:00am: World Languages: Spanish & Italian
10:00am-11:30am: Algebra
 

Only students who are taking a full-year course in the above subjects are encouraged to take these tests. The purpose of these tests is to determine whether the student should be given credit for the given subject and advance him/her to the second year. Please email Terri Ann Parks, Director of Admissions, if you have any questions or would like to sign up for the exam.


A make-up exam is scheduled for March 28, 2017 at 8:00am.

 
 
 
 

Three Holy Cross Students Named All-State Student-Athletes

Holy Cross High School is proud to announce that three of its' students have been named All-State athletes by the Connecticut High School Coaches Association. Adam Razza '17 (Watertown), Madelynn Mowad '18 (Prospect) and Kiley Harnish '18 (Middlebury) were awarded this achievement in football, swimming and soccer, respectively. (Read More)

Making Math Fun

 

Caitlin Kinsella '18 started an after-school program that embodies the Holy Cross mission. This program introduces students from St. John the Evangelist School in Watertown to enrichment math-related activities that are both fun and educational.
 
"I wanted to make math fun and not tedious," said Caitlin, a Saint John graduate. "We do mostly games and projects. Some involve Legos and scavenger hunts." (Read More)
