Volunteering
Holy Cross has a long history of generous donors who give their time, talents and services. The success of our annual events would not be possible without the participation of our Holy Cross Community. Holy Cross accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. To make a credit card gift by mail, please send your name, address, credit card number, expiration date, a daytime telephone number, and gift amount to the Advancement Office at Holy Cross.
To send a gift by check, please make your check payable to Holy Cross High School and mail it to Advancement Office, Holy Cross High School, 587 Oronoke Road, Waterbury, CT 06708.
Memorial and Honorary Gifts (Scholarships/Endowment)
Your memorial gift can help to perpetuate the values that guided a loved one’s life. Gifts may honor a person during his or her lifetime or commemorate a significant event.
Matching Gifts
Many companies sponsor matching gift programs to encourage employees to support the schools, colleges, and universities they attended. Your gift can double or triple if your company or your spouse’s company participates in the matching gifts program. Your company’s Human Resource office can provide you with information about its matching gift program.
It can be as simple as requesting a matching gift form from your employer and sending it along with your gift to Advancement Office.
Gift of Stock
A great way to show your support for Holy Cross is through the transfer of stock. Often it is more beneficial to transfer stock directly to Holy Cross because you avoid a capital gains tax on any increased value and also receive an income tax deduction for the full market value of the stock. Call the Advancement Office at 203.574.5422 for stock transfer instructions.
Property
A gift of real estate or personal property has similar benefits as a stock donation. You get capital gains savings as well as a charitable deduction for the full market value of the gifted property,
Planned Giving
Planned gift, deferred gift, estate gift – different names for a way to manage your affairs, plan for the future, and make a gift to Holy Cross High School. These are the most common types of planned gifts.
Income Producing Plans – charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts.
Charitable Lead Trusts – support Holy Cross now and still leave assets to your heirs.
Bequests – make a gift by will.
Life Insurance – use a life insurance policy to make a substantial gift.
