Junior Year

Junior year is a time to focus on future options and to prepare for college and/or career choices. Students complete the PSAT in October and results are discussed at length within individual meetings.Juniors also begin a comprehensive college search process which seeks to match each student with several possible colleges based on the individual student’s needs and preferences. Students are encouraged to take the SAT or ACT during the spring of their junior year. At the end of junior year, students are prepared to continue their search and visits to colleges throughout the summer.


  • To assist students in their personal, academic, and career development
  • To prepare students for college admissions standardized testing
  • To prepare students for future plans through Naviance, individual meetings and group presentations


  • Monitors and counsels students with educational concerns through Academic Advising
  • Confers with students referred by parents, faculty, administrators, self or other students
  • Provides personal, career, and/or academic counseling as needed
  • Provides counseling regarding course selection for the following academic year
  • Prepares students for college testing process through group sessions and individual meetings
