John Zinno, Jr. '85 Gives Students a Lesson in Personal Finance

John A. Zinno, Jr., CPA '85, a BlumShapiro partner, gave a presentation on his professional life and personal fiscal responsibility to students from the Personal Finance, Accounting, Advanced Accounting, Intro to Business and English 10 Honors classes. Many of his comments echoed the lessons taught in Holy Cross's Personal Finance Class. (Read More)


Senior Class President Solomina Darko '18 to Attend Harvard University


Senior Class President Solomina Darko '18 will be a member of Harvard University's incoming freshmen class, starting in the fall of 2018. She applied and was accepted through the school's Restricted Early Action. She will study Biomedical Engineering and plans to pursue a Doctorate shortly afterwards. Solomina was among over 6,000 applicants who applied Restricted Early Action to Harvard and was one of only 964 who were granted admission to the prestigious university. (Read More)

Students & Faculty Collect Over 700 Canned Goods in the Annual SOUP-er Bowl


The 4th Annual Holy Cross High School SOUP-er Bowl was held on Friday, February 2nd. Over 50% of the school's faculty and students donated over 700 canned goods/nonperishable items. Crusaders were allowed to dress down in athletic jerseys or HC shirts if they brought in three canned goods. (Read More)

Advancement Event Updates: The Green & Gold Gala & The Alumni Easter Egg Hunt


The Green & Gold Gala

This year's Green & Gold Gala will be as extra special one as we look back through five decades of Holy Cross High School's rich history. This event will be held on Saturday, March 10th from 6:30pm-Midnight at La Bella Vista in Waterbury. Cost is $75.00. Dinner and open bar will be provided. We will also offer live and silent auctions, the Car Raffle drawing and dancing. It will be a great night supporting a great cause. Register online or contact Mike Phelan '89 at


The Alumni Children Easter Egg Hunt

The Advancement Office and the Legacy Student Club invites you to the Alumni Children Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 17th. The event will be held at Holy Cross from 8:30am-10:30am. Alumni children up to age nine are invited. Admission is free. We will offer our guests a pancake/French toast breakfast, selfies with the Easter Bunny and of course, the Easter Egg Hunt.
