Parents, alumni, faculty and friends gathered at Holy Cross High School on Saturday, September 25th for the return of the Welcome Back Beer and Wine Tasting hosted by the Holy Cross Mothers’ Club. The guests sampled wines, ate food generously donated by D'Amelio's Italian Eatery and Noochie’s Deli & Cafe, and reconnected at the school’s first in-person event for parents and alumni.
Three alumni gave their time and talents to make this evening a success. Marty Q ’83 enhanced the atmosphere of this fun evening with easy listening jazz music. Dan “Grossy” Pelosi ’00 made his famous vodka sauce with pasta while Jeremy Christie ’91 shared his expertise as the guest sommelier.
“I thought it would be fun to come back and see the community that brought me to be the person I am,” said Dan. “Being at Holy Cross was such a great experience. Being in that community has been amazing. These are my people.”
“There are so many ways to give back to your alma mater,” said Jeremy. “When I was offered the opportunity to help and to talk about what I love, it was a perfect marriage for me. I was able to help the school and chat about my passion, which is wine.”
Holy Cross holds a special place in Marty’s heart as both an alumnus and the parent of a graduate. “It’s good to be back,” he said. “It’s a full circle moment for me to walk through the halls where I went to school.”
Holy Cross High School also sends special thanks to our generous sponsors: Ace Van & Storage (Presenting Sponsor) and D'Amelio's Italian Eatery and Noochie’s Deli & Café (both Food Sponsors).
