Achieving Limitless Power with Aileen Crespi '91

Once upon a time, Aileen Crespi '91 was part of the Corporate America machine. She worked for seventeen years at Beacon Health Options and Optum as a Director/Senior Account Representative and Strategic Account Executive, respectively. Her portfolio included Fortune 500 Jumbo accounts including General Electric. She climbed the corporate ladder and eventually landed as a VP within the health and wellness industry.

"At first, my professional past took place behind the scenes," said Aileen. "When I moved to Boston, I answered phones for Beacon Health Options. From that job, I got promoted every two years until I was an Executive. Then, it started to become more sales-focused."

She also gave birth to twins, Leah & Gabe, as her job was becoming more demanding and requiring more travel. She realized it was time for a career change.

Aileen wanted to help people. She realized that goal when she became an independent business owner with Rodan + Fields Skin Care in 2012."I help people transform their skin as well as their lives," she said. "I also help people who start their own businesses."

Aileen is very active in Rodan's non-profit arm, Prescription for Change (PFC). The mission of the PFC Foundation is to serve youth with life-changing empowerment programs where they live. Since 2014, the PFC Foundation has partnered with buildOn to sponsor more than 440,000 student program days and to fund three new locations for youth programming in challenged urban high schools.

"buildOn's sole purpose is get people off the streets and give them a purpose," said Aileen. "They empower U.S. urban youth to transform their neighborhoods and the world through intensive community service. Globally, they are constructing a new school every three days in some of the economically poorest countries around the world. Our Consultants' donations are matched by Rodan + Fields. Together, we have contributed nearly $2 million in charitable gifts to date."

Recently, Aileen was selected by Rodan + Fields as one of the winners of the 2017 Prescription for Change Foundation Change Maker Trip to Chicago, IL. "The trip is a significant honor that celebrates Rodan + Fields Consultants' commitment to serve youth in our own communities. It is a once-in-a-lifetime service opportunity for us to volunteer side-by-side for 36 hours with buildOn. During this trip I learned about the limitless power youth can achieve through community action."

Aileen always had a strong desire to help back and give to others. She remembers her days as a Holy Cross student. Times were tough, and Aileen remembers one specific person helping her get through. "Mr. (Timothy) McDonald would stand outside every day and greet the students. When he would see me, he would know something was upsetting me. He pulled me aside, and we would talk. He provided so much support to me. I owe so much to him. He was a great mentor."

This experience has fueled Aileen's desire to help kids through the PFC Foundation. "I just believe that if kids have a dream and some guidance, they can do anything they set their mind to."
