Arsenic and Old Lace, a farcical black comedy, tells the story of the charming and innocent Brewster sisters, Abby (Eileen Xue) & Martha (Cecilia Moisan) who populate their cellar with the remains of socially and religiously "acceptable" roomers. Protagonist, Mortimer Brewster (William D'Avino) deals with his homicidal family which includes his two siblings (Christina Failla & Jack Boushie) and debates whether or not to marry Elaine Harper (Cassidy McNeil), the woman he loves.
This standard in American theater originally opened on Broadway on January 10, 1941 and played for 1,444 performances. It was made into a film starring Cary Grant in 1944. This production marks the second time Arsenic and Old Lace has been told on the Holy Cross stage. The first production was presented in the fall of 1991 with Mr. Schulte as "Teddy Brewster."
Other cast members in the current production include: Mischa Telesford, Jaela Rivera, Jack Wang, Natalie Kirby, Grace Persaud, Bryn DeFoe and Andrew Shea.
