Performing Arts Crusaders Return for a Special Cast Party

Over 100 performing arts alumni spanning the 1970s through the 2010s returned to Holy Cross for the first annual Cast Party. This event took place on Friday, November 10th in the school's Alix Family Gallery. Students and faculty who kept Holy Cross Student Theatre and the Music Department alive reconnected, toured the facilities and shared old stories.

"Our hopes are twofold," said Lori Conetta, current Holy Cross faculty member and co-chair of the Cast Party. "We wanted to reunite performing arts alumni and its supporters. We also wanted to raise money to improve the performances in our auditorium. The Cast Party felt like a family reunion. It was a down-to-earth, genuine night."

This event was planned by the Cast Party Committee, comprised of alumni, parents and faculty members. Holy Cross Student Theatre Directors Paul Whealon and Lori Kenny Conetta were the co-chairs. Other committee members included: Ericka Nole Brayton '90, Gabrielle Brazauaskas, Bryan Conetta, Catherine Dwyer '87, Cary Fappiano '85, Guy Gaudiosi '03, Mike Giampetruzzi '95, Joseph Jacovino, Dennis Killian, Leo Lavallee '77, Kevin Leger '05, Malorie Leogrande '05, Dawn Maiorano '86, Marissa Follo Perry '03, Mike Phelan '89, Todd Santa Maria '94 and Rosanne Shea.

"It was more than what I expected," said Mr. Whealon. "It's wonderful to know that so many people were touched by being a part of theatre."

"The Cast Party and Performing Arts Reunion/Fundraiser was a huge success!" said Catherine Dwyer '87. "This is the arts, and everyone is welcomed in with open arms.... I have been welcomed back into the fold, and I plan on doing everything in my power to keep the arts alive and well at Holy Cross. This will be the first of many events to reconnect, support, donate and bask in the warm memories we share from our beloved arts."

A student-led Performing Arts Cabaret Pasta Dinner Fundraiser will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 6:30-9:00 pm in the cafe at Holy Cross. The dinner is open to all guests, students, families, teachers, and alumni of all ages.
